Dr. Greg Wyman was named new superintendent of the J.O. Combs Unified School District at the Governing Board meeting last night.

Wyman will be replacing Dr. Gale Blanchard who announced that she will be retiring at the end of this school year.

Wyman was was given the chance to talk about his educational philosophy at the community forum held last week in the Combs High School library.

“My leadership style in built on two things and two things only; number one, treat people the way that you would like to be treated, and number two, nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care,” Wyman said.

With Wyman’s extensive career in education, he has gained knowledge that he carries with him through every position change.

“There’s one thing that you cannot change, that’s experience, because you have to live it,” Wyman said. “I’ve had the opportunity to live it, it has been painful, some has been very good but that’s what I bring to the table as a superintendent.”

Wyman sees where Combs is as a District, and will apply his expertise in a new and fresh way.

“Let’s take us from where we are to where we want to go… together,” Wyman said.

“Let’s take Combs to the next level.”
